H. Keys to paddling canoe as well as Keys to paddling kayak These are so important that if you know, understand and can apply them you probably don't need instruction.
I. Operation Paddle Safe, or OPS Program Exam.
J. Pass Fail Criteria for Certification. - At an ICE for Basic River, or basic Coastal the candidate may be asked to do a maneuver, such as paddle over and turn around a buoy . The candidate would be expected to paddle over, perform the maneuver, all at DEMONSTRATION quality, 7 out of 10 times. This means, doing the whole task at DEMO quality, i.e. paddling over and all the components of the turn. Not just making the turn as instructed. Safety requires 100%; 100% of the time.
